Hi All, I was overwhelmed by the number of replies and apologies for the late reply as I didn't have access to the computer until yesterday as it happens to be a friend's computer. I have tried several diagnostic and other tests and have concluded, being in its 7th year, it needs to be retired, I have to agree with JonIT that it is time for my friend to upgrade hence awarding him Best Answer under the circumstances.
